Summer sports will be canceled for the 2020 season with the Delhi Township Parks and Recreation Department.

Of a few sports canceled for this season, baseball, softball and t-ball did not make the cut.

For those who had already signed up and paid for those summer sports, you can expect a refund.

This decision of course comes as a result of concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic to help ensure the health and safety of the players and families, according to WILX.

“I am saddened to announce we have decided to cancel all 2020 summer sports as an added precaution to help protect the health and safety of our community,” Mark Jenks, Director of the Delhi Township Parks and Recreation. “We were looking forward to kicking off another exciting year of youth summer sports here in Holt. However, given the impact of COVID-19 and the rules regarding social distancing, we decided it’s best to cancel the season, refund parents and look to restarting youth sports in the fall.”

Registration for fall sports will still be available from July 13th to July 31s for children in preschool through the 4th grade.

You can register your child for those fall sports by visiting this link.

Coaches will begin to reach out to their players on the weekend of August 21st.
