The ability to have your cat declawed may be coming to an end here in Michigan. A bill has been proposed that would ban the practice some call cruel.

WILX reported this:

For those of you who don't know, declawing a cat means that you are basically cutting off all of their fingers at the knuckles. According to the Humane Society of the United States:

Medical drawbacks to declawing include pain in the paw, infection, tissue necrosis (tissue death), lameness, and back pain. Removing claws changes the way a cat's foot meets the ground and can cause pain similar to wearing an uncomfortable pair of shoes. There can also be a regrowth of improperly removed claws, nerve damage, and bone spurs.

Also, if your cat gets outside, it may need those nails for defense, to survive, to find dinner and maybe to find their way back home.

Now, here are some cats acting like humans to cheer you up if the thought of a cat being declawed depresses you.
