COVID-19 Vaccine Phases in Michigan
With the vaccine currently being shipped, here are the phases for its distribution.
On Sunday, Pfizer began shipping the first COVID-19 vaccines across the country for distribution. Many are wondering where and when they will be able to get the vaccine. As of last week, over 300 sites in Michigan signed on to deliver the vaccine, according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Within two weeks, all hospitals and health departments across the state should receive a shipment of the vaccines. Once received, the phases of vaccine distribution are as follows:
- Phase 1A:
- Paid and unpaid persons working in health care settings who have direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious materials.
- Residents of long-term care facilities.
- Phase 1B:
- Some workers in essential and critical industries, including workers in non-hospital or non-public health laboratories and mortuary services.
- Phase 1C:
- People at high risk for severe COVID-19 illness due to underlying medical conditions.
- People 65-years old and older.
- Phase 2:
- Mass vaccination campaign for all adults.
The COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer were produced in the Portage facilities right here in Michigan and are now being distributed across the United States. If you have been on social media at all in the last 24 hours you have already seen the videos and pictures of the first batches of the vaccine being shipped.
When it comes to the vaccine itself, different people have different opinions when it comes to whether or not they want to take it. Let me just say this. It is Monday and we are less than two weeks away from Christmas, don't fight about this in the comments!!! It is stupid and you will never change anyone's mind on Facebook.
