Could This Be The Most Haunted Lighthouse In Michigan?
The state is full of small little haunted attractions that are actually open to the public, but that begs a good head scratcher that I needed to be answered.
We live in a state surrounded by the Great Lakes, so in turn, a lot of our Michigan shores are littered with lighthouses, some very old too.
As you know, that leaves room for ghosts.
The Seul Choix Lighthouse
If you speak French, you probably had luck with that pronunciation. If not, it's pronounced as "Sis-shwa". In translation "the only choice."
The lighthouse itself was established back in 1892, however, it was only a temporary light at the time. Full services started in 1895 and in 1972, became fully automated.
The Seul Choix Lighthouse Today:
Today, the lighthouse is open to public from Memorial Day to October 15th, however, the light is still in operation to this day.
You can find the Seul Choix in the Straits of Mackinac.
The Ghosts of Seul Choix
If you're looking for your next little haunted adventure, the lighthouse may be something you need to explore. Visitors report hearing voices, seeing apparitions, and on occasion even hearing a disembodied voice.
Not to mention a former light keeper who roams the grounds.
The above is a photo from a visitor who thought they'd seen something on their last trip.
Others have reported seeing an elderly woman who is believed to be a mother-in-law of a keeper who perished during a Blizzard near the lighthouse.
There was some restoration at the lighthouse, encountered something that is possibly other Worldly, see the video below.
For The Nonbelievers Who Love A Good Scare
You don't need to believer to get a good jump scare!
The lighthouse appears to offer a haunted house kind of attraction during the spooky months of the year, see below:
Whether you believe in the spooks or not, the Seul Choix lighthouse still holds a lot of history within its walls you can check it. If you happen to go for a good old scare, then this may just be the place for you.
