Officials at the Centers for Disease Control are issuing a warning to everyone in the US to stay away from romaine lettuce due to a fresh outbreak of E.coli.

“Consumers who have any type of romaine lettuce in their home should not eat it and should throw it away, even if some of it was eaten and no one has gotten sick,” the CDC said in a notice on its website.

The CDC included all types of romaine lettuce including whole heads of romaine, hearts of romaine, and bags and boxes of precut lettuce and salad mixes that contain romaine, including baby romaine, spring mix, and Caesar salad.

According to NBC News, more than 30 people have become sick and 13 have been hospitalized due to the latest outbreak.

Earlier this year an E.coli outbreak that killed five people was traced back to Arizona. At this time, no further information is available about the origin of the contaminated produce.
