A String Of Break Ins At Local Restaurants Has One Business Trying To Help Out
I don't know if you believe in coincidences or not, but this one has all the makings of a local crime spree if I ever saw one. Maybe even a serial event?
It appears that someone is targeting our favorite, local Lansing and Mid-Michigan eateries for robberies, vandalism, and break ins.
It might be a string of unrelated crimes, someone or group might be behind all of them, dumb luck, or just desperate people in desperate times preying on local business owners who are trying to earn an honest living.
Who's been hit so far?
From the home of the most famous olive burger in Downtown Lansing, Weston's Kewpee Restaurant.
What's worse is that we're just rounding the corner after a year of a pandemic that drove a lot of folks out of business. But these restaurants survived, opened their doors, and are trying to get back to work and make a profit. They are dealing with all types of issues from mandates and state regulations to lack of employees.
The last thing they need is someone breaking in, destroying property, and robbing them of cash and other items.
When it rains, it pours.
Meet the sliver lining in that dark cloud.
Say hello to another local favorite, Saddleback BBQ. They are all about "help thy neighbor".
Recently several Lansing restaurants have been victims of robbery and vandalism. We want to prove that the Lansing community has their backs. We are raising money to be evenly distributed to each business.
The money raised will be used to repair damages, replace any stolen equipment, and invest in increased security measures.(gofundme)
