Author Bill Mathis will read from his new novel, Face Your Fears, Thursday, October 4, 2018, 6:00 p.m. at Sir Pizza & The Grand Cafe, 201 Cesar Chavez Drive, Lansing, Michigan. Face Your Fears is a story that deals with disability, LGBTQ, and family in an open hearted and open minded manner. Can a disabled quadriplegic find love? Be gay? Face Your Fears challenges traditional concepts of normal and treats disability as not something to pity, but that normal is simply a setting on a clothes dryer. Filled with humor, some tragedy, the book provides a challenging look at disability and perceptions.
Author Bill Mathis will read excerpts, answer questions and sign books. Mathis grew up in Clarksville, Michigan and graduated from Northwood University in Midland. Noted automobile and travel journalist, Steve Purdy of Willliamston, will introduce Mathis.
