An argument over a dog led to an assault at a State Park in the Upper Peninsula.

State Police from the Calumet post in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula reported the stabbing at the McLain State Park, northwest of Hancock, Saturday night.

According to WLUC-TV, the 27 year old woman was stabbed twice in an altercation about a dog running free along the beachfront. The woman was cut along the abdomen, and on the arm. She was treated and released from Aspirus Hospital in Laurium.

MSP have a suspect in custody, their identity will not be revealed until arraignment later today in 97th District Court in Houghton.
