Guess who is calling for segregated housing in New York City?

New York Democrat councilwoman Laurie Cumbo, the New York Post reports.

She did not stop there. Democrat councilwoman Laurie Cumbo, who is black, is concerned that “blocs” of Asians have been moving into particular housing projects.

Does this sound like hate speech to you?

What if a Republican councilwomen or man said this?

According to the New York Post, the Democrat asked, “How is it that one specific ethnic group has had the opportunity to move into a development in large numbers?”

“There could be some benefit to housing people by culture,” Democrat councilwoman Laurie Cumbo later told the Post when asked to clarify her comments. “I think it needs to be discussed.”

Do you believe there would be a benefit to housing people by their culture?

Is this Democrat councilwomen’s thoughts and statements sound like bigotry to you?

According to the Post, Chinese-American councilwoman Margaret Chin said, “She certainly could’ve chosen her words a bit more carefully.”

The Democrat councilwoman Laurie Cumbo later issued an apology, defending what she said, stating that she merely wanted to know if the New York City Housing Authority “uses a cultural preference priority component” to select new tenants.

According to the New York Housing authority spokeswoman Shola Olatoye, there is no such component.

What party seems to have a problem with bigotry in their ranks?
