Water Ban Lifted

The mayor of Toledo making a highly-anticipated announcement today--the water ban is over.

LSJ.com is reporting today that Mayor D. Michael Collins said today that water from Lake Eerie is again safe to drink.

The water ban affected now only thousands in the Toledo, Ohio area, but also thousands in southeast Michigan.

Residents were advised that testing found unacceptable levels of toxins in the water, likely due to algae and warned against using it.

Bottled water was made available to residents affected and Governor Snyder pledge whatever resources would be necessary to help the residents and communities affected.
