I was grabbing lunch in Okemos today, near the corner of Jolly and Okemos Roads, and saw that we have two new businesses to look forward to. And not just any businesses...new restaurants.

Okemos Restaurants

It's always nice to have new options when it comes to dining out. And now there will be two new ones in Okemos; Savvy Sliders and Joe's On Jolly.

Savvy Sliders is taking over the old Tim Horton's location on Okemos Road between Jolly Road and I-96. It's part of a largely Michigan-based chain of restaurants that serves up sliders for lunch and dinner. They also serve up some yummy-looking breakfast sliders, but only at certain locations in southeast Michigan. They don't just have your regular old sliders, either. Looking at their menu online, they have fried chicken, grilled chicken, falafel, and cod as well.

As of right now, there's one location in Columbus, Ohio, and they are looking to expand to Florida as well, but for the time being, they have the most locations concentrated in the Metro Detroit area in places like Garden City, Redford, Westland, Warren, Southfield, and more. They'll soon be adding Okemos to the list, however, no word on when they'll be opening.

The second new restaurant is Joe's On Jolly. It replaced the Value Tire Center that used to be at this address on Jolly Road.

After doing a little searching on Facebook, I learned that Joe's On Jolly is hoping to put a "spin on the classic bar menu with local ingredients and new age plates." No specifics on what their menu will feature just yet or when they'll be open, but by the looks of things...soon. Here's a look at what you can expect on the inside.

29 Business That Lansing Would Love to See at the Old Tim Horton's

What's next for the Tim Horton's location in Lansing over near Jolly and Dunckel? That's the nagging question that's been on our minds since they closed their doors a few months ago.
