Two Charged with Bomb Threat Against MSU’s Football Stadium
Two people, identified only as a 31 year-old man and a 30 year-old woman, are facing charges in connection with a threat that caused the evacuation Wednesday of Spartan Stadium along with several other areas.
The Lansing State Journal is reporting today that the threat, according to police, came in the form of a phone call around 3:15. It indicated there was an explosive device.
MSU officials say within minutes the stadium was evacuated along with at least two adjacent facilities. Roads in the area were also shut down as a precaution.
A search, though, involving bomb-sniffing dogs found nothing and an all-clear was issued about two hours later.
Word came shortly afterward that two people--a man and a woman--were taken in for questioning. They were later arrested.
Officials aren't giving details yet on details of the threat, a motive for the attack, or what led them to the suspects.
They could be charged as early as today.
