For the outdoorsy mom, how about a hike at Woldumar Nature Center in Lansing?  Pair this with stopping by a restaurant for brunch and she’ll be happy to have some fresh air and no need to cook!

If you’re looking for something to buy, but not sure what to get her, gift certificates are always a good option. Think about your mom’s favorite things - or things that she’d like but doesn’t want to do for herself - and treat her to something fun like a trip to the spa, nail salon or maybe some new running shoes!

Antother thought is to give mom the gift of time! I have a friend who goes to a movie by herself on Mother’s Day. Sometimes TWO movies! Make sure mom doesn’t have to lift a finger – at least one day – as you help with housework!  And, make sure she gets to eat her favorite food...even if it's nachos!

Whatever you do, and whether you are near or far, take time to show your mom some love.

Best Nachos
