Toyota Recalling 690,000 Vehicles

Due to rear leaf springs that could break, puncturing the gas tank setting fire to the vehicle 690,000 Toyota Tacoma pickups are being recalled.

Tacoma Four-by-Four and Pre-Runner pickups made between 2005-2011 are covered by the recall.

Toyota says that the leaf springs could fracture due to corrosion or stress.  When they move other parts of the vehicle could be effected, including the gas tank.  So far the automaker is unaware of any crashes or injuries caused by this problem.

The company will fix the problem at no cost to the owner.
