With Michigan State finally breaking their recent losing streak against rival Michigan on Sunday 70-62, Tom Izzo seemed to be a little more at ease during his media availability on Tuesday, emphasis on "a little".

Izzo, who turned 62 on Monday, said "There were some good things we did, we're still questioning our turnovers at times, our defensive rebounding"

Izzo later disclosed freshman Nick Ward was suffering from the flu during the Michigan game on Sunday, he was sent to an urgent care facility after the game. Izzo did not know at the time of the press conference if he would practice or be available for the game against Nebraska "I hope it's just the 24-hour bug"

With a big rivalry win at home, Michigan State now has a difficult week ahead travelling to Nebraska for a Thursday night game and then travelling to Ann Arbor to try and sweep Michigan a week from today.

Izzo was also asked about how he felt about the state of officiating in college basketball after getting what might have been his earliest technical foul ever in a game against Michigan.

Izzo also took the time to do everything but confirm Gavin Schilling being done for the season. While there has not been any official word Izzo said "in our mind, he's done because he isn't even practicing yet"
