Money is on the way as today marks the last day for Michigan insurance companies to mail out those beautiful $400 refund checks to every insurance paying Michigander.

For a minute there, I was losing hope. I was tempted to never pay for insurance in Michigan again. I know a ton of friends that just drive around with outdated tags. No insurance and they're just living life! It's almost like they're invisible to the police. So when I heard that people that actually pay for insurance and follow the rules will be receiving a check, I couldn't wait to rub it in my friend's face! Ha!

Governor Gretchen Whitmer said that nearly 75% of Michigan drivers have received a check, but if you have not, you need to call the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services.

"Insurers were required to issue refunds to all eligible Michiganders as quickly as possible, but in no event, not later than May 9," the director if DIFS Anita Fox said. "If you did not get a paper check or direct deposit and cannot reach a resolution with your insurance company call DIFS at 833-ASK-DIFS Monday through Friday 8 a.m. through 5 p.m."

I hope this process doesn't turn into a mess of a situation. I've already received my own $400 for my vehicle I didn't know I had another one on the way because of my motorcycle. I haven't received that yet, but from the details, we all can expect to be paid by the end of the week. If you don't get your check, call the number above and annoy the hell out of them.
