The Academy of Country Music has announced nominations for its 2023 awards, and a Michigan venue could win the ACM Award for "Casino of the Year".

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mt. Pleasant is up for "Casino of the Year - Theater" for 2023, along with four other venues across the nation: Deadwood Mountain Grand in Deadwood, South Dakota; Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, Louisiana; Resorts World Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada; and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Despite being nominated in previous years, an ACM win in 2023 would mark a first for Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort, which thanked its patrons via social media.

Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort hosts dozens of concerts - country and otherwise - every year in its theater and on its grounds outdoors. Country shows still to come in 2023 at Soaring Eagle include:

  • Jelly Roll and Willie Nelson & Family with special guest Ernest on May 27
  • Brooks & Dunn with special guests Scotty McCreery and Megan Moroney on June 15
  • Kane Brown with special guests Chris Lane and Restless Road on August 3

While winning performers will be presented their trophies during the 58th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards ceremony to be broadcast from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas via Prime Video on May 11, winners in the ACM's Studio Recording and Industry Awards categories (including the category in which Soaring Eagle is nominated) will be recognized in August at a separate ceremony in Nashville.
