Here we go again with the word police — and of course it is coming from our publicly funded universities.

According to an article in Campus Reform, the University of New Hampshire has published a “Bias-Free Language Guide” on its website.

The publicly funded university believes words such as "American," "homosexual," "illegal alien," "Caucasian," "mothering," "fathering," and "foreigners" are deemed "problematic."

The word “American” is problematic?

The words “mothering” and "fathering” cause them concern also? (More on this later in my blog.)

Instead of using the word “homosexual,” the word police says we should say “same-gender loving.”

How are we going to be able to remember all of these “offensive” words and their replacements? Can we add the words “University of New Hampshire” to the list of words that offend people?

My vote is yes.

Their word police guide does not end with the words above, the University of New Hampshire also believes the words also considered problematic include: “elders,” “senior citizen,” “overweight,” “speech impediment,” “dumb,” “sexual preference,” “manpower,” “freshmen,” “mailman,” and “chairman,” and many others.

Now back to the word “American” and why they have a problem with it. According to the Campus Reform article, “The guide notes that “American” is problematic because it “assumes the U.S. is the only country inside [the continents of North and South America].” The guide doesn’t address whether or not the terms “Canadians” and “Mexicans” should be abandoned in favor of “Residents of Canada” and “Residents of Mexico,” respectively.

So instead of “American” what word should we use per the word police “U.S. citizen” or “Resident of the U.S.”

There are many more suggestions the guide has but I would like to tell you about one more. The word police at the publicly funded University of New Hampshire discourages the use of “mothering” or “fathering.”

Why?

We must “avoid gendering a non-gendered activity.”

Have you had enough of this yet?

When you allow liberalism to come out of the shadows they have been hiding in and waiting for a President like President Obama then this is what you get.  A breakdown of society and its norms.

Let’s discuss this today on my show The Live with Renk show, which airs Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon, to let me know your thoughts at (269) 441-9595.
