Nick Ward will be back for a third year at Michigan State according to sources around the league and the Lansing State Journal.

Ward had worked out for a number of team, including the Detroit Pistons, and even had second workouts with a few as they evaluated his talent and gauged whether or not he would be worth a draft pick or an undrafted free agent spot.

Ward did not hire an agent and with the May 30th deadline looming to commit to staying in the NBA draft or returning to college Ward has reportedly opted to return to East Lansing.

In a press release Ward said:

“It was a great opportunity for me to go through the process and I’m grateful for the feedback I received from NBA teams... It is every player’s dream to play in the NBA and I’ve learned a lot through my workouts and interviews that will help me when I am ready to make that next step.  I know what I need to work on and I’m committed to coming to the gym every day and striving to be the best player I can be."

Ward averaged 12.4 points and over seven rebounds a game in 19 minutes a game during his sophomore season last year.
