Should There be a Recall of Lucky Charms? Many are Saying They got Sick!

Do you have Lucky Charms in your cupboard? Are the kids, even you, eating them? Well, it's a mystery, but more that 100 complaints have been filed with the FDA, Food and Drug Administration, of people getting sick. 

The FDA says they are investigating and taking this very seriously because several hundred people have also posted on a food safety website, iwaspoisoned.com, complaining of nausea, diarrhea and vomiting after eating Lucky Charms.

So, what's going on? A Memphis, Tennessee TV station, Fox 13, was reporting that thousands of people have complained on a consumer website, that they got sick after eating Lucky Charms, The Wall Street Journal reported.

As of now, a recall has not been issued.

According to the Journal, with contributions from The Associated Press, breakfast cereal rarely results in foodborne illness because the baking process typically kills pathogens, but the products can be contaminated after baking, such as when glazes are added or during packaging.

Patrick Quade, founder of the consumer website iwaspoisoned.com, told the newspaper that his site has fielded nearly 2,500 reports to date from people nationwide who said they got sick soon after eating Lucky Charms.

So, what is one to do? To eat Lucky Charms or not to eat Lucky Charms, that is the question. I would think that maybe it would be a good idea to pass on the Charms for a bit until all of this is sorted out.
