An incident of road-rage turned into a car chase with blazing gunfire. Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch received numerous calls concerning road rage in the area of Goguac Street near North 21st Street in Springfield, around 8:15 PM Saturday night. They also received a call from the fleeing victim who reported that his car was being fired at by another vehicle in pursuit.

An investigation revealed that the drivers each felt "slighted" over a traffic violation which led to the road rage. It also revealed that the victims car had been struck by gunfire.

 

Sheriff Deputies located the suspect vehicle and an 18 year-old Battle Creek man, who was a passenger, was arrested on charges of assault with intent to murder and various weapons charges.  He was lodged into the Calhoun County Jail.
