Endeavour Middle School is part of the New Haven Community Schools district. New Haven, Michigan is about 45 miles southeast of Lapeer. The school says the worksheet was distributed to seventh graders during a reproductive health class.

A Few Examples of Questions Included on the Worksheet

Some of the questions were rather innocuous, such as:

  • Would you go on a blind date?
  • Do you think that marriage should last forever?
  • Do you think it's okay for a girl to ask out a guy?

However, there are a few questions that parents say are completely inappropriate for middle school children:

  • Do you want to marry a virgin?
  • Do you know someone who has had unprotected intercourse?
  • Would you want an X-rated movie?
  • Do you know the difference between "making love" and having sex"?

A picture of the quiz has been shared on the Macomb Township Voices Facebook page.

Parents React

Amber Diaz is a parent who has two children in Endeavour Elementary School, which is located in the same building with the middle school. She tells WXYZ-TV that she was puzzled by the contents of the worksheet.

“I don’t understand what the motive is behind this and what they are trying to get the kids talking about,” Diaz said.

School Reacts

In a communication with parents, Superintendent Cheryl Puzdrakiewicz says that the assignment has been pulled and that all reproductive classes have been put on hold for the time being.

Puzdrakiewicz says the assignment should have been vetted by staff members before being distributed to students.
