The chances for severe weather and isolated tornadoes has increased for the Mid-Michigan region Thursday.

According to MLive.com Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa, it will all depend on whether early day showers and thundershowers break up enough to give way for enough sunshine to warm temperatures to a point where the atmosphere becomes unstable. If rain and clouds are persistent through the midday hours, temperatures should stay cool enough to limit severe weather chances. But, if it warms up to around the 70 degree mark, then, severe storm possibilities increase.

Regardless, we will see lots of rain, some thunder, and plenty of wind, with gusts expected to peak around 40 miles per hour throughout the day Thursday. Temperatures will drop back into the mid 40's Friday.
