Rudy’s Bar-B-Q is Delicious and We Could Use One in Lansing, Michigan

Lansing's food scene is ever-changing. Whether it's with restaurants closing or opening, there's always something different about what's available to eat in Lansing.

That being said, I think there's always room for more variety and deliciousness. That's why I think Rudy's Bar-B-Q would be an excellent addition.

While Rudy's Bar-B-Q originated in Texas (where lots of delicious BBQ hails from), it's now a chain that has multiple locations throughout the southwest. I had the opportunity to give it a try during my recent trip to Arizona.

When I was in Arizona, it was my goal to eat and drink at places I had never been to before (like Dutch Bros Coffee) that aren't available in Michigan. Rudy's came highly suggested by the local person I was staying with, so I figured I had to give it a try.

Right when you walk in, it definitely has that down-home, family feeling. There is a candy counter at the register, the walls are covered with vintage signs and local sports memorabilia, and it smells just as if your dad has been grilling all day long.

The menu has a slew of smoked and grilled meats to choose from, along with a variety of ways to enjoy them; a meat plate, a sandwich, or (my choice) on a giant, loaded baked potato. Plus, there are numerous drinks, sides, and desserts to round out the rest of your meal.

I got the loaded baked potato with brisket, a side of three-bean salad, and a glass bottle of Dr. Pepper to drink, and everything was absolutely amazing. From the food to the service, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Rudy's. Check out the loaded baked potato below and try to keep from drooling down your chin.
