There have been plenty of "Days the Music Died" but that legendary phrase was based on the most-talked about plane crash in rock history: The 1959 crash that took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and The Big Bopper.

Since then there have been many others, leaving behind memorials where all their fans to come and pay homage.
