I will be interviewing State Senator Patrick Colbeck, R-Canton Township today (Monday) at the top of the 11:00 hour.

Senator Colbeck is running in the Republican Primary to be the next Governor of Michigan.

Senator Colbeck and I will be discussing the following:

  1. Teachers going on strike around the country for higher pay.  Medicaid expansion is eating up a larger percentage of general funds which is crimping education spending.  Senator Colbeck warned against this when the Michigan legislature approved in 2014.
  1. The nation’s “report card” came out and Michigan performance is still in the bottom third:

A education news site named Chalkboard wrote about Michigan's education performance in an article published April 10th.

Senator Colbeck warned about these two issues when Michigan approved Common Core.

Let's talk with him Monday to find out what he see's as the future of Michigan's education and what wold be his legislative priorities.

Please join us Monday at 11:00 am.
