Plans are in the works to convert a part of the old Willow Run Bomber Plant in Ypsilanti into a museum. Organizers with the "Yankee Air Museum" have been raising money through their "Save the Bomber Campaign" and now they say they have reached their objective.

Through the course of World War Two the plant built nearly 9,000 aircraft. Most were B-24 Liberators (see photo).  As many as 40,000 had jobs there either on the assembly line or making sure supplies were ordered and delivered.
