As many school districts are getting ready to start their 2019-2020 academic year, the Ingham County Sheriff's Department is reminding motorists to pay close attention while driving near schools in the area. According to a post on their Facebook page, the Ingham County Sheriff's Department says that both "marked and unmarked cars"
will be used to try and catch distracted drivers who are violating school bus and crossing guard laws. Officials say that citations will be issued to drivers who don't follow the law.

Here's the Ingham County Sheriff's Department's warning (or friendly reminder) to local drivers:

Earlier this year, the Ingham County Sheriff's Department warned motorists that the Holt school district had added stop arm cameras to their school buses to help catch drivers who were breaking the law. The cameras "capture high definition images of any vehicle, driver and license plate which decides to pass the school bus while the side stop arm and lights are activated".
