Lansing, Michigan Former National Stages Now Empty or Parts Store
It may seem hard for some to believe but, 2900 N East Street, now an O'Reilly Auto Parts, used to be where some of the biggest names in the country would take the stage. Let's take a look at how two of Lansing's hot spots have aged and evolved since 2007, thanks to Google Street View.
601 E Michigan Ave (2021)
Though now listed as "permanently" closed, 601 E Michigan Ave used to feature incredible talent from across the country. This location featured tropical décor, live music, and, most notably, dueling pianos. "You'll Love How You'll Feel" when you're at:
Rum Runners (2007)
This is the earliest Google Street View of Rum Runners available and it looks like it was just before an exterior renovation and new neighbors.
Rum Runners (2008)
New awnings, signage, and a much brighter day for Rum Runners.
Rum Runners (2009)
Maurer's delivery? Fresh linens perhaps?
Rum Runners (2011)
Looks like there are some new neighbors.
Rum Runners (2015)
The last entry on the Rum Runners Facebook page was January of 2014 and it said they would not be open that weekend due to water damage.
Rum Runners (2016)
The sign remains, until...
601 E Michigan Ave (2017)
That would be the last sighting of the Rum Runners logo. With two stories and outdoor options, Rum Runners in its heyday was always a good time.
2900 N East St (2023)
The stage that used to stand on this property saw Tim Allen, Tommy Chong, Drew Carey, Paul Mooney, Kevin Hart and more.
Connxtions Comedy Club (2007)
Connxtions Comedy opened in 1984. It had been renovated from a bowling alley. Pieces of the lanes were used as tables and wall decorations.
Connextions Comedy Club (2008)
Construction for Connxtions Comedy Club's N East Street in '08
Connextions Comedy Club (2011)
If you arrived early or stayed late, Connxtions Comedy Club's Bar, Captain Joe's, had a drink for you.
O'Reilly Auto Parts (2015)
Connxtions Comedy Club closed in April of 2014 in the midst of celebrating its 30th anniversary. Chances aren't great, but there is still a chance you could see Pauly Shore shopping for wiper blades at O O O O'Reillyyyyy...Auto Parts!
