Obama Campaigning in Detroit Friday

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Gary Peters and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer will be getting a little help from a powerful woman.  First Lady Michelle Obama will make an appearance at Detroit Music Hall at 12:45p.m. Friday afternoon.

The Democratic Party says that you need a ticket to attend the event but admission is free.  People interested in attending the event can get a ticket starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday.  Tickets are available at Democratic offices in Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Detroit, Pontiac, Southfield and Sterling Heights.

Mrs. Obama will only be in Michigan for a few hours.  She is heading to Iowa to help campaign for another Senate candidate, Bruce Braley.  The Democratic Party is trying to remain in control of the Senate.  The Republicans need to net 6 seats in the November election to gain control.
