New Traffic Control Devices In Michigan Will Warn Wrong Way Drivers
WILX.com reports that The Michigan Department of Transportation will be installing flashing lights on some state interchange ramps that will alert drivers that they are driving in lanes travelling the opposite direction.
The effort is to curb wrong way crashes on freeways with higher speeds and more tragic results.
The lights will be seen on exit ramps along U.S. 131 in Kalamazoo and I-194 in Battle Creek.
Officials told WILX that more ramps could be equipped with the same warning lights in the Metro Detroit area and around Grand Rapids.
