It's time to get busy and start focusing on Michigan's economy. A lot of things have changed since the start of the pandemic over two years ago and Governor Gretchen Whitmer has a message for everyone.

Governor Whitmer has been working on her budget plan for 2023 and would like to propose billions of dollars in new spending to help our economy bounce back.

According to mlive.com:

Details of the proposed budget shared with MLive shows plans to boost salaries and create retention bonuses for teachers, give checks to front-line workers and inject money into a state fund for business incentives.

I'm sure that teachers would really appreciate retention bonuses. There is currently a shortage of teachers these days which needs to be addressed as well.

Mlive.com adds:

Staffing shortages are posing challenges for schools. Whitmer wants to sweeten the pot for teachers and other school staff who haven't seen their wages increase while investing in recruitment incentives to attract new talent.

Yes the Governor is talking about billions of dollars in new spending to help so many of our Michigan friends.

Here are a few of the highlights from Governor Gretchen Whitmer, courtesy of mlive.com:

1. $18.4 billion investment in the School Aid Fund.

2. $1.7 billion for retention programs.

3. $600 million over the next four years for educator recruitment programs.

4. $100 million for teacher onboarding and mentoring programs.

To get Michigan's economy to bounce back in the right direction, these are several important programs that will help Michigan grow and make things better in the near future.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been doing a great job for Michigan and I'm sure she will stay committed and focus on what's best for all of Michigan.
