New Okemos Downtown Redevelopment Plan Floated
WILX,com reports that a new development project worth an estimated $100 million has been proposed to Meridian Township officials for the Downtown Okemos district.
After failing with an initial idea in 2012 that forced the closure of the popular Travelers Club Restaurant, the owners of Douglas J. Salon have proposed another redevelopment idea for the Okemos Road and Hamilton Road intersection.
The new plan would be a mixed-use development with retail, office, and residential space.
Area business owners and residents will have their time to chime in as well. The township will hold public feedback sessions later this summer.
