Need Help Feeding Your Pets? Help is Here
It can be tough to feed all the mouths in your house and if you need help feeding your cat or dog there is help locally for you. According to WILX, Meridian Township is going to be having a pet food bank available two days a week at a few different locations around Meridian Township and Okemos.
The food bank is going to be open either on Wednesdays or Saturdays through this time. There are two locations as the parking lot of the Okemos Community Church, (4734 Okemos Rd.) is having their food bank on Wednesdays from 10am-Noon. The second is one located at Central Park Pavilion (5151 Marsh Road) and that one is open on Saturdays from Noon-2pm.
The pet food bank is because of a collaboration of Okemos Community Church Food Pantry, the Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter, and The Cat Ambassador. They are looking for donations as well so if you have extra food, donations can be dropped off at the donation bin at the Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter (600 Buhl Street in Mason). Pets Supplies Plus and Pet Smart are also doing donations but you have to buy the food from the store and donate it in the bins outside of the store.
