There is a new department at Michigan State University, the Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Jack and Dottie Withrow of Naples, Florida donated $500,000 to establish an endowed graduate fellowship.  According to Leo Kempel, Engineering College Dean, the gift will ensure the department's success.

Both Jack and Dottie have strong connections to MSU.  Jack, former executive vice president at Crysler, earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration from the university.  While Dottie earned a bachelor's degree in speech therapy and elementary education from State.
