The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Lansing Area, once again, beginning tonight at 7:00 PM and ending Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM.

Locally, we can expect snow showers to begin this evening, mixing with freezing rain and sleet overnight. Snow will be blowing and drifting again with wind gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.

However, the biggest concern in the short term is for the freezing rain potential overnight tonight into early Tuesday. The possibility of a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation exists for Lansing. The highest probability of ice buildup is near Jackson and the I-94 corridor, as demonstrated below. Additionally, 2 to 4 inches of snow and sleet accumulation is expected tonight and early tomorrow.
