Declining COVID-19 Outbreak Rates

As of Wednesday, July 7th, MLive reported that the outbreaks of COVID-19 have seen an 89% decrease since June 7th, 2021.

"An outbreak is generally defined as an instance in which two or more cases are linked by a place and time," MLive said. "Indicating a shared exposure outside of a household."

MLive cites data from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) in reporting that a month ago, the state was tracking 523 active COVID outbreaks and as of July 7th, they are currently tracking 56.

Good News, Despite Declining Vaccination Rates

While cases and outbreaks are going down, vaccination rates have also become a bit stagnant.

On July 6th, 2021, MLive cited futher data from the MDHHS that said "Across Michigan, the number of people receiving vaccines fall dramatically since the first week of June."

Now, the state is pushing for more people to continue to get vaccinated, offering incentives like Michigan's lottery for those who have been vaccinated that has already seen over a million entries.

The Final Henry Ford Allegiance Health COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

The no-appointment-needed clinic has been administering vaccines at Jackson's Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center since March 4th of 2021, according to MLive.

Now, due to a drop in demand for the COVID-19 vaccine and officials telling MLive the center will be "returning to a full schedule of programs" this service will be ending with the final day being Thursday, July 8th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
