The Oldest Bridge In Michigan
The oldest bridge in Michigan, just so happens to be a covered bridge, crossing over the Flat River. We're talking about the Whites Covered Bridge.
First built back in 1867, the bridge is only 120 foot long, built with wood. The Whites Bridge is one of only three covered bridges that are open to the public for vehicles to drive across.
The Unfortunate Happening In 2013
Unfortunately, the bridge was burned to the ground in 2013, so the current erected bridge is not original to its 1867 build.

The bridge was burnt to the ground in a confirmed arson fire, with an accelerant that destroyed the original bridge.
In 2015, the historical society came together to make a fund to restore the bridge to its former glory.
The Perfect Photo-Op Bridge
This bridge, even if it isn't original, could make a perfect place for a photo-op depending on the time of day. We aren't just talking about selfies in front of, or graduation pictures either. Just pure man-made structures and early sunrise or sunset photos are magnificent from this bridge.
