The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) was fined $205,000 for campaign violations. This was the second largest campaign violation in Michigan's history.

The fine was due to SEIU's initiative for their Citizens for Affordable Quality Home Care and Home Care First, Inc. The proposal, which was defeated, would have continued an arrangement under which the SEIU claimed $6 million to $8 million a year in dues from workers caring for patients on government assistance which took revenues away from the most needy of our citizens.

Guess who has the highest campaign violation in Michigan History.  None other than Democrat gubernatorial candidate Mark Schaur.  He was fined $225,250 in 2009, which  was related to his excess contributions made from the state Senate campaign fund.
