Go Green, Go White! Here's the latest regarding upcoming classes at MSU.

According to the Lansing State Journal, Michigan State University will delay classes starting in January by one week following a request from Governor Gretchen Whitmer as the state gains ground in the fight against coronavirus.

As we all know, most classes were hosted online for the fall semester. Originally, MSU had planned for classes to start on Jan. 11 with about 440 in person classes and around 4,000 students living on campus.

Universities and colleges can bring students back to their campuses for the spring semester. Whitmer asked they delay in person classes until Tuesday, Jan. 19. (LSJ)

Over the last several days, leaders at MSU will be quickly adjusting plans to move the start of classes to Jan. 19.

The timeline also ensures financial aid for students will not be impacted.

So at this point, all classes will start online on Jan. 19. Any in person classes will start online and transition to in person on Jan. 25.

Students living on campus can begin moving in on Jan. 25, with the exception of international students and others who live on campus through winter break.

MSU President Samuel Stanley has encouraged students who live off campus to stay away from East Lansing for as long as possible. When they do return, all students are expected to quarantine, monitor their health, wear masks, wash their hands often and practice social distancing. (LSJ)
