Michigan State University Begins Electric Power Vehicle Transition

Electric vehicles are the future of this country and Michigan State University is on board with making new changes that are necessary for a greener future.

Within the next decade, Michigan State University will start expanding their fleet of electric vehicles. We're talking about roughly over 350 vehicles.

According to mlive.com:

Some of the investment comes with purchasing electric vehicles, while other parts of it will convert internal combustion engines, according to an MSU news release. All of that investment is about the university's goal of climate neutrality by 2050, said President Samuel Stanley in a statement.

Personally speaking, I'm not an owner of an electric vehicle as of right now, although my neighbor across the street owns one and he rants and raves about it all the time.

Environmentally speaking, decreasing gas emissions will definitely help Earth's atmosphere in the long run.

The university's goal is to slash in half its 2010 levels of greenhouse gas emissions, which trap heat in Earth's atmosphere and contribute to climate change per the Environmental Protection Agency. The estimated decrease of carbon dioxide with this university transition will be 18,945 less metric tons by its 2050 goal, the release states. This loss of carbon is the equivalent of planting more than 312,000 trees, the release states.

Overall it looks like Michigan State University has an excellent plan laid out for a brighter and greener future.

Michigan State is very focused on energy goals and that also includes switching gears to electric transit which is already happening.
