Michigan State University 90% Fully Vaccinated

All eyes are on Michigan State University for two really good reasons:

1. MSU vaccination rate is at 90%.

2. MSU football team is ranked in the top 10. GO GREEN!

Talk about hard work and getting things done. Michigan State University is reporting a 90% vaccination rate including students, faculty and staff members.

According to the Lansing State Journal:

MSU has received 4,339 vaccine exemption requests, with 3, 138 approved and 224 denied, Olsen said. Another 98 people have been denied but filed appeals. MSU President Samuel Stanley Jr. previously said the university would offer few religious and medical exemptions.

It certainly makes sense to focus on getting vaccinated since we still have a long way to go with this ongoing pandemic.

All MSU students and staff members should be vaccinated because this helps by promoting a safer school environment for everyone involved.

I have a step son who goes to Michigan State and he just received his second vaccination about two weeks ago. He just told me over the weekend how happy he is knowing that he's fully vaccinated so he can continue his classes at MSU.

Why are vaccinations so important? Lansing State Journal tells us:

Since Aug. 2, MSU and the Ingham County Health Department have reported 522 cases among MSU students, faculty and staff. Since Aug. 1, MSU has seen a 1.65% test positivity rate through its COVID-19 early detection testing program.

No matter how you look at it, COVID-19 is out there and it's extremely contagious. Even if you are fully vaccinated, there are still no guarantees. For example:

My friend's wife went to an MSU football game a few weeks back and even though she was fully vaccinated, somehow some way, she came in contact with a person at the football game who infected her with the COVID-19 virus. Thankfully she only had mild symptoms.
