According to a report from WLNS.com, the Michigan State Police will conduct an internal investigation to determine whether its top cop, Colonel Kristie Kibbey-Etue will face disciplinary actions after posting a meme on Facebook this week about NFL players protesting during the National Anthem.

The meme referred to protesting players as degenerates for kneeling and protesting. Despite outcry from some state lawmakers and civil rights advocates, Governor Rick Snyder has stated that Etue will not be fired. However, an MSP spokesperson says she could face possible punishment in the form of written reprimand or a five day suspension if the investigation determines that Etue violated any MSP policies.
