Michigan Senate Says No To Limiting Drilling
Yesterday the Michigan Senate said no to two bills that would have given local governments more power to limit oil and natural gas drilling in their jurisdiction.
The two bills backed by Metro Detroit Senators which would have prevented the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality from approving drilling permits for wells in communities of 70,000 or more within 450 feet of a residential building.
I can see both sides of the issue on this one. Would you want an oil or gas drill within 450 feet of your home?
Although many of us enjoy the lower gas prices which benefits the entire economy by putting more cash in your pocket to spend on whatever you want to purchase, is it worth it?
What are your thoughts about this?
What do you see as the pros and cons?
