I Love talking about home improvements because a lot of people in Michigan are into fixing up their homes. What else do we have to do right now during the coronavirus pandemic?

According to WILX, Michigan residents are heading to hardware stores for do it yourself home improvements to tackle a wide range of projects while spending more time at home.

This is exactly what I've been doing ever since the coronavirus pandemic took over. I go to Home Depot just about every weekend to purchase more tools and project materials just to keep busy and to catch up on home repairs.

After Michigan allowed nonessential construction to resume on May 7, home improvement professionals have noticed a big jump in requests for projects including finishing a basement and building a deck.

Hardware visits for people pursuing do it yourself projects have also increased after resections were lifted.

My newest project right now is to finish our deck in the backyard so we can start grilling out more and just enjoy our time on a new deck. I think for many people, it's all about keeping busy and not spending all your time worrying about everything that's going on these days.

When it comes to projects, there are so many things people can choose to do to upgrade their homes. Anything from remodeling your kitchen or bath, to repainting your master bedroom. What about putting in a beautiful flower garden?

People are still working from home and could be for an extended period of time, and they want and need more space. So keep busy with your home improvement projects and have a safe summer.
