“We’re all in this together. I’m not different from any person.”

Kevin VanAmburg is a Flint native and Kearsley High School graduate who now lives in Monroe. He owns his own vintage restoration company and also drives deliveries for a Brighton company.

According to The Gander, he noticed that the barista at his regular Tim Horton's was running the store all by herself when the coronavirus crisis started.

Her name is Denise. She has two adult children living at home with special needs and works seven days a week to provide for them. Kevin didn't know any of this when he tipped her $900 on April 17th; he just knew that she needed some extra help.

Kevin had collected the $900 from friends and broadcast the donation live on his Facebook page. He's planning on doing it again for another essential worker.
