A man and woman from Paris, Michigan have been arrested after police found a 19-year-old autistic man locked in a caged bed.

According to Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson, a civil dispute call was answered by a deputy on October 20.  The deputy found the young man in a bedroom at the home. Police investigating the case said the cage’s door was chained shut.

A 65-year-old female and a 66-year-old male were taken into custody.  Both were residents of the home.  They are currently awaiting arraignment on charges of unlawful imprisonment and vulnerable adult abuse.

Three adults and two children have also been removed from the home by authorities.

The adult protective services office of the Michigan Department of Human Services is investigating the case.  According to them the home is not a licensed care facility.
