Michigan Man Fighting COVID-19 Gets Married at Sparrow Hospital

Sometimes a man has to do what a man has to do, and this time around, a St. Johns man did just that by getting married at a local hospital.

This story is about a couple who have been trying to get married for the past two years. It's not about cold feet or anything like that, it's all about timing.

This story is about Laurie and Devlyn. The groom is from St. Johns and he's been at Sparrow Hospital battling COVID-19.

Originally they both wanted to have a fairly good size wedding, but with the pandemic slowing everything down, wedding plans were temporarily put on hold.

According to the Lansing State Journal:

The couple, who have been together for more than three years, got married Saturday at Sparrow Specialty Hospital with decorations cobbled together from their doctor's basement and her own wedding. The two married in T-shirts labeled "bride" and " groom," with two patient care technicians acting as the flower girl and ring bearer.

Even though this isn't the perfect way to go about getting married, especially in a hospital, I think it's very romantic that this wonderful couple decided to exchange wedding vows no matter what.

So now Laurie and Devlyn are husband and wife because they didn't want to waste any more time.

Devlyn has been struggling with COVID-19 since back in August where he was put on a ventilator. He actually had a mild case of COVID-19 back in April and then before he could get vaccinated 90 days later, Devlyn was hit with COVID-19 for a second time.
