Michigan Is Home To One Of The Dirtiest Cities In U.S.
Earth Day is coming up on Saturday and I started thinking about what I can do to improve our planet, there are some cool events happening this Saturday in Lansing. Then I went down the rabbit hole and wondered about the cleanest and dirtiest cities in America. Michigan is not home to one of the cleanest cities in America, it is home to the #4 dirtiest city in the U.S.
Lawn Starter shared some info about how a study was conducted to determine the cleanest and dirtiest cities in America:
We compared over 150 of the biggest U.S. cities across four categories, including pollution, living conditions, infrastructure, and consumer satisfaction.
Having traveled to some cool destinations I can say that Chicago is "somewhat clean" in my opinion, compared to New York that is "kind of clean". I am not a germ phobe and I can use common sense when it comes to places I want to visit. If I walk into a restaurant and there's food on the walls and some vommit from the kids that have eaten there, I won't be dining at the location.
With all do respect to the city in Michigan that ranked at #4, YOU'VE come a long way and I am impressed with your downtown area. I love that I can go to a professional game whether it be hockey, baseball, football or basketball. Compared to the first times I ever stepped foot into you, you look like a shiny diamond now. This town no longer has that "sticky bar floor feeling".
Detroit is the #4 Dirtiest City in America
Although it is ranked #4 that's an improvement from #2 a few years ago. Detroit is on the move and it's about progress, not perfection. Keep grindin' Detroit. Their overall score was 48.3 according to the study.
The top 3 dirtiest cities ahead of Detroit are:
#3 San Bernardino, CA with a score of 51.58
#2 Newark, NJ with a score of 55.25
#1 Houston, TX with a score of 56.02
