The pandemic affected everyone differently, but one thing everyone can agree on is that the current economy has gone straight into the gutter. Everything is more expensive and if you are on a fixed income that could be a death sentence to your normal spending routine. That's why programs like this are so important. Governor Gretchen Whitmer spoke of the new program recently and highlighted how important it is to help each other during this pandemic.
“Homeowners have not been immune to the financial impacts of the pandemic,” said Governor Gretchen Whitmer. “We’ve taken action through the pandemic to keep families in their homes, and with the MIHAF program, we can build on our efforts to put Michiganders first Source:NBC25.com
So far MIHAF has lined up 8,300 homes to help with this new program. Now there are some prerequisites that you should know about before getting super excited.
In order to qualify you must:
- Have experienced a qualified financial hardship due to the coronavirus pandemic after January 21, 2020, OR had a qualified hardship that began before January 21, 2020, but continued after that date.
- Meet income eligibility requirements
- Have property this is owner-occupied
Check out the rest of the requirements by clicking here! Take advantage of these programs while there available. I've got a feeling that 2022 will be a turning point financially for a lot of people. But, only time will tell.
